Offered here is a beautiful watercolor, most likely from the 1890s, titled “Chartres”, clearly depicting Chartres, France, with the famous Chartres cathedral depicted in the distance. The river is likely the Eure. Signed in the lower right “ Everitt Kilburn Taylor”, he can be found online also under the name “Everett Kilburn Taylor”. This painting was found with a trove of artwork that had not been looked at in at least 30 years, and we have left it in original condition (except for cleaning off the glass). There is a mark in the top left of the painting that may be a scratch, but was hard to tell. Please see the pictures for details. The watercolor measures 9.5 x 13.5 inches, and framed measures 12.5 x 16.5 inches. The frame is original and shows some wear.
