Large original Max Papart pen and ink drawing with a nude reclining woman, birds, and other abstract symbols. Signed “Max Papart 56” in the lower left, with “pour Andree” above it. In the lower right, it is inscribed “ to Ken Nahan, New Orleans, May 3, 1973” and signed Andre Caraire. On the back is a Nahan Galleries label. Ken Nahan was the primary art dealer for Max Papart in the United States and Andre Caraire was Papart’s biographer. Purchased from a CT estate. The image measures 19.25 x 25.25 inches, and framed measures 30.5 x 36.35 inches. It is archivally matted and framed, using break resistant acrylic. A fantastic original work of art from one of the masters of the second generation of cubists.
